Peoria Unified Honors Veterans

Students from kindergarten- through 12th-grade throughout the Peoria Unified School District celebrate members of our armed services on their campuses for Veterans Day.
The following list includes a few events that were held for Veterans Day throughout the district:
Wednesday, Nov. 9
Desert Harbor Elementary: 15585 N. 91st Avenue, Peoria, Ariz.
At 9 a.m., there was a school-wide assembly with a patriotic sing-along, bugle calls, student performances, and a recognition of all Veterans in attendance.
Thursday, Nov. 10
Apache Elementary: 8633 W. John Cabot Road, Peoria, Ariz.
The school hosted a Veterans Day breakfast at 7 a.m. for Apache families who have served, or any active military service members.
Canyon Elementary: 5490 W. Paradise Lane, Glendale, Ariz.
At 7:45 a.m., there was a Flag Raising Ceremony, followed by breakfast in the cafeteria for all Veterans and first responders.
Coyote Hills Elementary: 21180 N. 87th Avenue, Peoria, Ariz.
At 830 a.m., Coyote Hills hosted a breakfast for Veterans in the multipurpose room, sponsored by the National Junior Honor Society.
Cotton Boll Elementary: 8540 W. Butler Drive, Peoria, Ariz.
At 7:30 a.m., Cotton Boll Veteran community members attended a continental breakfast hosted by the National Junior Honor Society and Student Council. The choir performed for all attendees.
Desert Valley Elementary: 12901 N. 63rd Avenue, Glendale, Ariz.
There was a Flag Raising Ceremony at 9 a.m. with the Peoria ROTC, followed by an assembly in their outdoor amphitheater, an honorary walk around campus where students celebrate Veterans, and a breakfast Veterans can enjoy with their Desert Valley student.
Frontier Elementary: 21258 N. 81st Avenue, Peoria, Ariz.
At 8:15 a.m., Frontier Elementary held an assembly to honor all visiting Veterans from the community.
Heritage Elementary: 5312 W. Mountain View Road, Glendale, Ariz.
They held a Veterans Day assembly at 2:15 p.m., inviting members of the community who have served in the military.
Lake Pleasant Elementary: 31501 N. Westland Road, Peoria, Ariz.
At 7:15 a.m., there was a Veterans Day breakfast in the multipurpose room followed by a parade through the halls, and a presentation hosted by Jody Beltram.
Oasis Elementary: 7841 W. Sweetwater Avenue, Peoria, Ariz.
Oasis Elementary National Junior Honor Society students held their annual Veterans Day lunch at 10:30 a.m. in the multipurpose room.
Pioneer Elementary: 6315 W. Port au Prince Lane, Glendale, Ariz.
At 2 p.m., there was a school wide assembly for Veterans in the community.
Sky View Elementary: 8624 W. Sweetwater Avenue, Peoria, Ariz.
At 2:15 p.m., there was a Veterans Day assembly, followed by a Parade of Heroes.
Sunset Heights Elementary: 9687 W. Adam Avenue, Peoria Ariz.
At 9 a.m., there was a drive-through Veterans Day parade honoring Veterans from the community.
