Trump Hosts First Outdoor Rally Since Assassination Attempt – Will He Recapture the Crowd's Energy

At his first outdoor rally on Wednesday since escaping an attempted murder, Donald Trump will be protected by bulletproof glass. However, the Republican candidate may have a harder time matching the fervor of the masses that are swarming Kamala Harris.

Asheboro, North Carolina, is a battleground state in the close election on November 5th, so this is an opportunity for Trump to recapture his legendary status as the master of lavish rally staging.

He will speak about his national security ideas on stage at an aircraft museum, surrounded by historic warplanes, accompanied by vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance.

This is the first major event he will host outside since he was slightly hurt in an attempted murder at a comparable public location in Butler, Pennsylvania, a month ago. A Secret Service sniper killed the shooter in return fire after that attack claimed the life of one bystander.

The 78-year-old Trump was advised by the Secret Service to limit his public appearances to more manageable indoor spaces like sports arenas. Since then, he has gone to roughly twelve indoor competitions.
