Under normal circumstances, the Amphi Foundation would be gearing up for its annual Gala, the Foundation’s largest and most important fundraiser of the year. Even though the in-person celebration is not yet possible, fundraising must carry on because Amphi students and their educators continue to experience tremendous challenges and the Amphi Foundation is committed to providing funding and services to promote academic excellence for all Amphi students.

The Amphi Foundation is hosting a virtual event March 5, 2021 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. live from the Hilton El Conquistador. The fundraising goal is $75,000 to ensure Amphi students and educators have the resources they need to be successful this school year and beyond.

“All In for Education is a community-wide call to action: Help us raise vital funds by making a gift to the Amphi Foundation on or before March 5th. More than ever, our students and their educators deserve to know that their community supports them, and funds raised through this effort will have a direct impact on and Amphi students or classrooms,” Leah Noreng, Executive Director, said.

So far this school year the Amphi Foundation has invested nearly $250,000 in the Amphi community through its programs and services—a marked increase from previous years with the addition of some specific initiatives to assist with pandemic-related needs. For example, last fall the Amphi Foundation took measures to address the digital divide by investing $20,000 to purchase laptops and partnered with Cox and Comcast to offer WiFi service to Amphi students in need so that they can access their classrooms from home during remote and hybrid instruction. For students and families experiencing financial hardship because of the Covid 19 pandemic, the Amphi Foundation continues to run its Clothing Bank and Shoes to Smiles programs, and is also offering grocery store gift cards and emergency food boxes.
