Peoria Unified School District recently partnered with First Things First to provide the district’s first Family Resource Center at Marshall Ranch Elementary School in Glendale.

The center will also offer assistance for families applying for health insurance and food stamps as well as Department of Economic Security childcare. The overall goal of the Family Resource Center is to strengthen families and help children arrive at kindergarten ready to succeed.

Funding for the Family Resource Center comes from the Family Support Strategy of First Things First and focuses on strengthening families with young children, preparing them for kindergarten. Strong families are the building blocks of strong communities.  It is critical parents have the necessary resources and tools to provide their children with stable nurturing environments especially in the earliest years.

Community members are invited to stop by Marshall Ranch Elementary School for the Grand Opening and are encouraged to invite friends and neighbors.
