Mesa Public Schools earns top award in Financial Reporting

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada awarded Mesa Public Schools the highest form of recognition for accounting and financial reporting.

Mesa Public Schools has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada. The district earned the award for its comprehensive annual financial report for fiscal year 2020.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 21,000 finance professionals. Financial reports are judged annually by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive and clearly communicated spirit of full disclosure.
