The Dysart Unified School District was recently recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal and the American Heart Association for efforts in workplace and employee health and wellness.

Dysart was named a top 20 Healthiest Employer by the Phoenix Business Journal. It placed #6 in the Largest category for businesses with over 1,500 employees in the Phoenix area. The award takes into account all of the healthy options that the district currently offers employees, including flu shot clinics, monthly wellness webinars, fitness challenges, and more. In 2019, Dysart ranked #17 on the list.

Additionally, the American Heart Association awarded the Dysart Unified School District for achieving the Gold Level on the 2020 Workplace Health Achievement Index. Placement on the index indicates the extent to which a company has implemented best practices for employers to use to build a culture of health for their employees, as defined by the American Heart Association. There are 55 individual best practices, organized into seven categories of organizational best practices (leadership, engagement, programs, policies and environment, partnerships, communications, and reporting outcomes). To achieve a Gold Level, Dysart scored between 175-217 out of a maximum of 217 on the index.

The Governing Board recognized the district for these achievements at meetings in October and November of 2020.
