Coconino Community College paves regional career pathways via Pipeline AZ’s technology platform
Coconino Community College (CCC) announced a new partnership with Pipeline AZ, an Arizona career development and jobs skills exploration platform, to support students on their education and career journeys. This partnership will help CCC students and Coconino County job seekers explore in-demand careers in the region that align with their passions, skills, and the region’s economic demands.
“The Coconino Pipeline is here to help students figure out their professional futures,” said Juanita Tarango, Director of Student Success and Coconino Community College. “If a student doesn’t know where to start, the platform will provide that assistance and give them ideas on what fields they may want to go into. It’s truly a pipeline to getting the job they want.”
Coconino Pipeline uses Pipeline AZ’s white-labelled platform and services to act as a career exploration and talent development infrastructure for all CCC students. The Coconino Pipeline is part of a series of programs launched across Arizona that provide a platform for students and job seekers to explore careers closely tied to their current skills and interests to reach their full potential. The program will also provide exclusive access to world-class instruction, information, and field experience.
“Coconino Community College and all of its campuses throughout Northern Arizona play a pivotal role in the economic development of the region,” said Katherine Pappas, Director of Workforce Strategy at Pipeline AZ. “Pipeline AZ’s partnership with Coconino Community College will provide a unique workforce solution that will create more pathways to in-demand careers. The platform’s skills mapping technology helps job seekers begin a new chapter in their professional lives, advance their existing careers, and encourage further learning .”
Every CCC student will have access to customized career exploration tools and support through the Pipeline AZ platform, which showcases statewide and Coconino County-specific career opportunities. Coconino County job seekers who are not enrolled in a CCC degree program, will also be able to set up a profile to explore careers and discover local training programs to help them reach their career goals. Regional employers will be able to post jobs. The listings will include skills, certifications and degrees needed.
“Current trends are showing that Career and Technical Education fields – like construction, nursing, emergency medical services, construction managers and information technology – are in demand and often require a faster turnaround into the workforce. A student should know what their options are. When students have a solid plan, they can graduate, get the career they want, and receive the salary they’re looking for,” added Tarango.
Pipeline AZ is an initiative of the Partnership for Economic Innovation, a passionate collective of business and community leaders dedicated to accelerating Arizona’s economic opportunities. The work of Pipeline AZ is made possible in part by the Maricopa County Industrial Development Authority. Job seekers of any age and experience can connect with employers at pipelineaz.com.
