Police arrested a Tempe man Wednesday evening after police discovered human remains in the freezer of his backyard. The tip came Tuesday, which led police to Hill’s property in reference to a possible body he had on the property. The suspect is 51-year-old Joseph Hill Jr.
When the officers came to Hill’s house, they attempted to inspect the freezer, but Hill apparently refused their request. In the course of questioning, Hill told the police that his father had died four years ago, but he did not give further information at the time.
The investigation continues as the officials try to identify the remains and collect further information. Hill is under police custody as the authorities are determined to decide on the full circumstances of the case.
