The suspect wanted for armed assault by Spring Hill Police was safely taken into custody Friday morning without incident, officials report. Solin Harless, 23 years old, was located and taken into custody after a lengthy overnight search involving officers, drones, and public alerts.
It all started when police say that there was a report about Harless, described as 5’9″, weighing approximately 160 pounds and reportedly seen near the Maury Hill Street area, close to Spring Hill Elementary School, carrying a .45-caliber handgun. This prompted authorities to give a warning for all residents to steer clear of the area around Evans Park since they postulated that Harless was hiding in a near-woodlice.
Police found Harless successfully Friday morning after taking him into custody following the community report of the situation Friday afternoon. He was found overnight in the area with officers working through the hours using drones to aid the search; he did have a handgun on him.
Spring Hill Police released a statement affirming that the community was safe and thanks those residents who cooperated during the searching time of the area.
Residents are, however, advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to 911. Officials, however, state that there is no further threat in the area.
