Over the weekend, gunfire erupted near Tennessee State University (TSU) in North Nashville, resulting in one person dead and nine others injured. FOX 17 News obtained chilling 911 calls that captured the chaos and fear in the moments after the gang-related shooting.

In one call, a woman frantically informs the dispatcher of the situation:

Caller: “I think the police are here. I think the police are here. Thank you.”

Dispatch: “911, what is the address of the emergency?”

Caller: “We’re on Jefferson, we’re on Jefferson, we’re on Jefferson. This lady got shot. This lady got shot.”

Dispatch: “Okay, where at on Jefferson are you?”

Caller: “We’re on 2701 Jefferson Street. This lady’s been shot. Please.”

Dispatch: “Okay.”

Caller: “Oh my god. Oh my god.”

Another call featured a desperate plea for help, where only screams could be heard:

Dispatch: “911, what is the address of your emergency? 911, can anyone hear me? Hello, can anyone hear me?”

On Monday night, authorities arrested two suspects in connection with the mass shooting. Both individuals are now facing criminal homicide charges.

TSU officials confirmed that none of their students were involved in the shooting, and the incident did not occur on the university’s campus. The investigation is ongoing as police work to piece together the full details of the violent event.
