The Louisville Metro Police Department says that an early shooting incident was reported on Wednesday morning near Portland Avenue, which targeted a woman.
The shooting incident occurred at around 3:00 am near the 1900 block of Portland Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers found that the woman had been shot; however, her injuries did not prove fatal.
Authorities say she was taken to UofL Hospital via ambulance and will survive the shooting.
LMPD officials continue to investigate how events unfolded before the shooting. Nothing more has been reported yet.
