Tucson Unified School District will hold two School Safety Community Forums to share information about how the district works to ensure children are safe and to answer questions from families and the public.
District and community leaders and law enforcement will be on hand to discuss concerns regarding gun violence that continues to occur on campuses across the United States, how the district prepares for emergencies and how we partner with local agencies before/during/after instances such as school threats.
The forums will be at Cholla High School on March 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on March 12 at Sahuaro High School from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The district will also Livestream the sessions for those who cannot attend. Find the link on the night of the forum at www.tusd1.org. To submit questions in advance, the public is invited to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
“As the nation grapples with school shootings and threats on campus, we know that our families, like so many across the country, are concerned,” said Superintendent Gabriel Trujillo. “These forums will give us an opportunity to share information about the district’s school security measures and reassure our students, parents and guardians that children’s safety is our top priority.”
