Trevor Browne Performing Arts teacher Nick Halonen was inducted into the Grand Canyon University Academic Hall of Fame at a special ceremony during Homecoming, March 1.

The Academic Hall of Fame was created to recognize alumni who have distinguished themselves since graduation and exemplify the GCU spirit.

Halonen holds both a Baccalaureate and Master’s degree from GCU. He is in his 10th year as the Choir Director at Trevor Browne High School.

He was selected as the 2009 Employee of the Year for Trevor Browne and was selected by the students as the 2013 Teacher of the Year.

Halonen is currently a director for the Phoenix Children’s Chorus and is often a guest honor choir clinician throughout Arizona.
