Teachers from India tour Phoenix Union campuses

  • |

Over 40 teachers from India toured four Phoenix Union High School District campuses as part of a three-month training program at ASU.

The teachers toured Central, Metro Tech, Alhambra and Franklin Police and Fire, campuses on Nov. 19, 2013.

The teachers are taking part in a program at ASU called In-STEP (India Support for Teacher Education Program) in which educators can enhance the teacher training in India by implementing reform strategies.

As part of the program, the Indian educators observe U.S. schools and educational best practices.

According to some of the teachers, the teacher-student communication is limited in India, perhaps because of the large classroom sizes (60-200) and there is limited student engagement in the learning.tm at the Arizona Biltmore  along with a meal for two at the resort.
