Scottsdale Community College will unveil their new Business School to students, faculty, staff and the community on January 10, 2019, by hosting a Student Success & Job Fair Open House.

There will be an opportunity to network and interact with entrepreneurs and industry professionals, where students’ can also take part in resume and scholarship workshops, explore service learning programs, and apply for jobs and internships on site.

Advisors from Arizona’s major universities will be in attendance along with representatives from tech giant, Google, who’s staff will answer student submitted career questions.

Who: Students, including high school, college, and adult learners are invited to attend SCC’s Student Success & Job Fair Open House. Guests are encouraged to bring their driver’s license or state-issued ID along with their resume.

What: SCC’s Student Success & Job Fair Open House will feature hiring employees, entrepreneurs, and guest speakers from various industries including business and computer information systems, accounting and finance, public relations, social media, marketing, real estate, retail, fashion, hospitality, insurance, media, and manufacturing.

Why: SCC’s new learning space will provide students with cutting-edge technology and facilities that mirror those of real-world work environments.

Innovative features include an extensive accounting and statistics learning center, two private workrooms, and access to tailored business information such as trending business news, stock prices, and educational talks. 

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of business and financial occupations is projected to grow by 10 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations, adding approximately 773,800 new jobs to the workforce. 

Currently, SCC’s Business School offers degrees and certificates in accounting and bookkeeping, business administration, management, marketing, retail management, and social media marketing. 

Whether students are planning on transferring to a university, seeking general business training, or pursuing professional development, SCC’s Business School is ready to serve the needs of their diverse student population.
