Robotics coach, former student attend documentary screening

Carl Hayden High School Robotics coach Fredi Lajvardi and former student Lorenzo Santillan were invited to a screening of the documentary, Underwater Dreams, which chronicles the success of the Falcons Robotics team and their upset over MIT 10 years ago, April 29 in Washington, D.C.

Hosted by the Center for American Progress, they were also part of a Q & A panel moderated by the Center’s Vice President for Immigration Policy and Advocacy.

Film director Mary Mazzio and Bill Kamela from Microsoft were on the panel, as well.

The Falcon Robotics team competed in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) International competition April 23-26, where the film was shown to the high school robotics teams.
