There is limited space in the “first come, first served” student registration into Chinese Dual Language Immersion Program at Horseshoe Trails Elementary School in Cave Creek Unified School District.

The program began in Kindergarten (August 2014) as a “Touch of Immersion” preparation model and will be rolling up into First Grade for the 2015-16 school year. Seats are currently still available for Kindergarten & 1st Grade.

Registration begins for Cave Creek’s Chinese program for 2015-16 MandarinImmersionCaveCreekHPFrom First Grade forward, this innovative educational model will cover the grade level AZ state standards in English and Chinese. This is accomplished by having the students spend half of the day with the English teacher and the other half of the day with the partner Chinese teacher. The Mandarin language becomes the vehicle through which students learn half of their academic content.

When starting at the early age of Kinder and First Grade, students’ brains are primed for this natural approach to language acquisition which leads to high levels of proficiency over time.

Please call the Horseshoe Trails Elementary School front office at 480-272-8500 to reserve a seat for your child and to see the schedule for parent informational meetings or call World Language Coordinator Cristina Ladas with questions at 480-518-4289. You can also visit our school website for more information on the left navigation side under World Language.
