It’s springtime in Flagstaff and that means it’s time for the 14th Annual Marshall Magnet School Suzuki Violin concert at Heritage Square downtown.
This year’s performance, featuring hundreds of Marshall Kindergarten, first, and second graders, will take place on Thursday, May 1, at 12:00 PM.
We are very excited to showcase the work of our hardworking and talented students, as well as a vibrant sea of hundreds of Marshall-blue T-shirts, as we take-over downtown and celebrate the accomplishments of over 300 students!
In partnership with Northern Arizona University (NAU) Community Music and Dance Academy, and partially supported by the Flagstaff Community Foundation, the Catherine B. Adel Music Endowment and tax credit donations, Marshall, a K-5 Title 1 arts and science magnet elementary school, offers two 30-minute Suzuki violin lessons each week during the school day to all students in grades K-2. Each student is assigned their very own violin to care for.
All Marshall 3rd -5th grade students participate in “Magnet Monday” (a one hour art/science elective class). Magnet Monday semester long electives currently include: Photography, Painting, Lego Robotics League, Chess Club, Garden Club, TeamMastermind© Engineering, Magnet Mentor program, Creative Writing, Dance, Video Technology, Choir, Percussion including Taiko Drumming, and Advanced Suzuki Violin.
Marshall is in its 14th year offering extracurricular magnet programs to its students and continues to offer all of these programs to our students at no cost to our families!
Marshall Magnet School is a Title 1 K-5 elementary school in the Flagstaff Unified School District. Amongst our many accomplishments we accepted the 2013 Governor’s Arts Awards in Arts Education!
We sincerely hope you can join us for this one-of-a-kind event. The performance will conclude by 1:00 p.m.
Come celebrate the success of these amazing students!
