A Louisville man is critically injured after a shooting late Friday night in the Russell neighborhood. Louisville Metro Police say officers of the First Division responded to a reported shooting at 11:20 pm in the 2600 block of West Broadway.
Upon arrival, police found a man thought to be about 40 years old with a gunshot wound on the head. Police gave onsite first aid before emergency medical services took him to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he is still under critical care.
Preliminary investigation indicates the shooting occurred in the parking lot of Dino’s, a business located at West Broadway. Because of the level of the man’s injuries, LMPD’s Homicide Unit has assumed control of the active investigation.
