Firefighters from the Phoenix Fire Department responded to a trash fire that threatened a strip mall Saturday morning near Central Avenue and Highland Avenue. Crews arrived shortly after 5 a.m. to find smoke and flames coming from a dumpster located near the building.
Acting on time, firefighters utilized hose lines and supply lines to confine flames. Ladder units were also placed along the roof for better ventilation purposes and further ensured that the fire didn’t spread into other parts of the building.
Although it had damaged one storage room in the strip mall, no one was injured in the incident. The situation ensured nothing larger occurred to the nearby business places.
