“We first met the Harvest Compassion Center team last year, when we participated in the Feed Phoenix program, and delivered boxed lunches to this incredible nonprofit on a regular basis,” says Daily Dose co-owner JenLyn Long. “Their mission is to provide food and clothing in a hope-filled environment to the underserved in the greater Phoenix area, and they are making good on that promise every single day.”

In preparation for Arizona school children to return to the classroom in August, Harvest Compassion Center is collecting backpacks and school supplies, with the goal of providing over 800 Phoenix-area children with the essential supplies they need to be successful in school.

“The most needed school supplies are backpacks, lunch boxes, pencil boxes, scissors, glue, crayons, and spiral notebooks,” says Harvest Compassion Center Communications Manager Lauren Sullivan. “We’re working with partners like Daily Dose to encourage people to bring in donations, or if easier, we also have an Amazon link where items can be purchased and sent directly to us: https://amzn.to/2ROad7z.”

Those dropping off Harvest Compassion Center school supply donations at Daily Dose bins can choose a free stack of Cinnamon Roll Cakes, S’mores Cakes, Mixed Berry Protein Cakes, Chocolate Strawberry Cakes, or Naked Cakes. Alternatively, they can opt for a free non-alcoholic specialty coffee drink such as Choc o nut, Bee Keeper, Mellow Bean, White Cinnamon Sugar Bean, Choc-o-mel, or Filthy Chai. All specialty coffee drinks offer a choice of whole, skim, oat, or almond milk. A selection of Ghirardelli and Torani syrups are also available.

“It feels great to motivate people to donate school supplies with delicious pancakes and coffee,” says Daily Dose Co-owner Matt Long. “We like to think of it as bribery for a good cause!”
