Students and staff were evacuated from Buena High School Wednesday morning following a bomb threat, according to Sierra Vista Unified School District spokeswoman Eva Dickerson. The call was received by the Sierra Vista Police Department around 8:30 a.m. and students were bused to the nearby Rothery Educational Service Center, where parents continued to pick up their children throughout the morning. Cochise County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Carol Capas said the sheriff’s office was contacted at 8:40 a.m. to assist with traffic control. “We’re assisting with traffic control and air support from Geronimo (the CCSO helicopter),” Capas said. “Bomb-sniffing dogs from Fort Huachuca have been dispatched as well.”
