The edXchange initiative at ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College will be hosting a Saturday Scholars event on November 8th from 10-11:30 a.m. at Brunson-Lee Elementary School.
Join education stakeholders in Exploring Challenges, Connections and Commitments for Sustained Social Impact at 1350 N. 48th Street in Phoenix.
Panelists will share the aspirations and challenges related to one researcher-practitioner partnership in education that is currently taking place at Brunson-Lee Elementary School in the Balsz Elementary School District and then explore connections with broader civic-minded efforts represented by the Balsz Promise Neighborhood initiative as well as synergistic agendas at ASU.
Panelists include Ryan LoMonaco, principal of Brunson-Lee Elementary, Joyce Lopez-Powell, director of the Balsz Promise Neighborhood initiative, Lori Robinson, a liaison between Balsz Promise Neighborhood and Balsz Elementary School District. and Jeff Smith, superintendent of Balsz Elementary School District.
Arizona State University‘s Carl Hermanns, an associate clinical professor of educational leadership, and Steve Zuiker, an assistant professor of educational technology & learning sciences, from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College will moderate the discussion.
The panel discussion will provide the foundation for an open conversation about shared commitments reﬂected in complementary (and sometimes competing) agendas at work in our schools and neighborhoods and the possibilities for enhancing the reach and impact of community-university partnerships in support of great schools and communities.
