Police are investigating a shooting around 1:15 this morning that killed a man near Crump Stadium.
Memphis police officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 300 block of South Cleveland Street and found a man with gunshot wounds, which was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary reports indicate that a verbal argument between two men turned into an incident where a man pulled out his gun and fired several shots before running from the scene on foot.
The Memphis Police urge citizens who may have information about the shooting or the suspect’s identity to contact Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH. The case remains under investigation, as the law enforcement seek further information.
