A tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 70 in Frederick County early today morning, spilling beer cans across the roadway and forcing a complete shutdown of all lanes.
A male driver was badly hurt in an accident early today morning on I-70, the Frederick County Fire & Rescue Department said. The accident occurred just before Exit 62 on the eastbound lanes of I-70.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and took one man to a hospital near here for evaluation. His condition was not released. As of 3:52 a.m., the Maryland State Highway Administration closed all three lanes of the highway.
Motorists are recommended to use alternate routes as officials make the road safe and continue clearing the roadway. They expect the delays will last for a few hours.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
