Police are investigating a man with a knife who allegedly attacked a woman and child in an apartment complex near 7th Avenue and Indian School Road. Sources report he was drunk. He is hospitalized because of injuries he inflicted upon himself.
Officers arrived at the scene around 2 am to discover a man with superficial cuts on his arm. He told police someone else stabbed him. The woman living in the apartment first said another man stabbed him, but then retracted that statement and revealed that the man attempted to assault her and her child with the knife.
His identity has not been released since his case is still under investigation. He is likely to face multiple counts of aggravated assault pending further investigation.
