Columbia Borough police are actively searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run incident on Lancaster Avenue. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, in front of 960 Lancaster Avenue, after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a fleeing vehicle.

The victim, a 47-year-old man, was filling his truck with gas from a can after running out of fuel when he was hit. The driver did not stop after the collision, leaving the man with what police described as “minor to moderate” injuries. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

Police have identified the vehicle involved as a black 2015 to 2018 Nissan Versa, based on car parts found at the scene. The vehicle is believed to be missing its passenger-side mirror.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Columbia Borough Police Department at 717-684-7735 or submit a tip online.
