Bullitt County mother accused of killing 2 sons expected to plead guilty attorney says

A mother of two young boys shot in her Bullitt County home last November is expected to plead guilty, court proceedings showed Monday.

Tiffanie Lucas, who pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder, is now reportedly planning to accept blame in the tragic deaths of her 6-year-old son, Maurice, and 9-year-old son, Jayden. The attorney for Ms. Lucas requested a status hearing for this Thursday, the court agreed to the scheduling.

Bullitt County Commonwealth’s Attorney Bailey Taylor said Lucas intends to plead guilty during the hearing scheduled for this week; a plea agreement has not been offered. That means a decision from the judge about sentencing will be determined later.

Lucas has been in jail since being arrested, sitting on $2 million bond. Her trial was previously set to start last December.

In this heartbreaking case, the alarm among the locals is sounded, and further details are expected to come out of court after Thursday’s hearing.
