The killing and the gunshot wound to the woman occurred in a shooting in a South Phoenix neighborhood, police said early Monday morning.
Police officers responded to a reported shooting around 12:59 a.m. on October 14 near 7th and Southern Avenues. When the officers arrived, they found two victims: an adult male and an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds.
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The female was rushed to a nearby hospital and remains stable.
Police surrounded a house next door before knowing if the shooter or someone associated with the shooter might be barricaded in. To date, no arrests have been made, and the shooter is still free.
