1 dead 1 injured in rear end crash on I 265 Saturday

A man was killed and another hurt in a rear-end collision that happened sometime before 4:20 Saturday morning on Interstate 265 near the Bardstown Road exit, said Louisville Metro Police.

Officer from the Seventh Division of LMPD were dispatched to investigate a crash at mile marker 16 on I-265. Police said a vehicle was traveling too fast and struck the back of another, which made that vehicle to cross into the median and roll several times.

The driver of the rear-end hit car was pronounced dead by first responders with the Louisville Division of Fire. His identity is unknown at this time.

The driver who rear-ended, whose speed was way too high, was DUI and was placed into custody. He was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Charges have not been filed yet, as the case remains open with the LMPD Traffic Unit.
