The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) said a passenger in a rideshare vehicle was shot early Saturday morning in west Phoenix.
The incident occurred at 2:55 a.m. near Interstate 17 and McDowell Road. Authorities have indicated that the victim was shot in the leg, but the details surrounding the condition of the victim were not disclosed.
DPS says it is still trying to detail events that led up to the shooting, and nothing else has been released by authorities at this time.
