Labour Councillor Arrested For Encouraging Murder

Video surfaced showing Dartford, Kent, councilman Ricky Jones ordering demonstrators to “cut all the throats” of “fascists” during Wednesday night’s demonstrations. Earlier on Thursday, the Labour party suspended him. “Officers have arrested a man aged in his 50s at an address in South East London,” the police reported this afternoon. He was detained for violating the Public Order Act and maybe promoting murder. He is being held at a police station in south London.” While speaking, Mr. Jones was observed making remarks while standing among a crowd and swiping at his neck in what appeared to be a throat-cutting motion.

Labour said in a statement on Thursday that “this behaviour is completely unacceptable and it will not be tolerated.”

In the video, a representative from the human rights group Amnesty International also seemed to be cheering Mr. Jones on.

In response, a representative for Amnesty International UK told LBC that the activist was “distracted” by her clapping and missed what Mr. Jones had said.

“Amnesty UK members and supporters attended yesterday’s mass anti-racism rally in Walthamstow,” the representative stated.

When they joined in the general applause with the crowd, the activist in the video made it apparent to us that they were preoccupied and had missed the speaker’s remarks.

Clive Lewis, a Labour MP for Norwich South, likewise denounced the remarks.

He remarked, “It’s wrong, completely wrong, these were non-violent protests,” in an interview with Vanessa Feltz on LBC.

The main targets of last night’s rallies were expected to be immigration centers and legal offices, while stores boarded up in anticipation of another violent night.

Companies and other institutions in Northampton, Essex, Brighton, Liverpool, and London, where local authorities anticipate unrest, have made preparations beforehand.
