2 people fighting for life after being hit by car in Phoenix

The incident has started being investigated by the Phoenix police after a hit-and-run accident injured two people critically on Saturday morning. 

According to the official, the vehicle ran into two people waiting at a bus stop around 7:45 a.m. near 40th Street and Broadway Road. The male and female victims were rushed to a hospital where their injuries were found life-threatening.

Officials add that the driver ran off on foot before police arrived, forcing the area into an active search. Broadway Road between 38th Place and 41st Street is shut down as authorities take up the investigation and the driver is to seek alternative routes through Roeser Road or University Drive, since there is no estimated time given for reopening.

The police urge anybody having details regarding the incident or whereabouts of the suspect to contact them.
