Williams Field student selected as a 2017 Nat Geo Mundo Explorer

Williams Field High School’s Trey Leveque, a 2017 graduate, is one of two students in the nation to be selected as a 2017 Nat Geo Mundo Explorer.

As part of the award given through a joint effort of DIRECTV and 21st Century Fox’s Nat Geo Mundo channel, National Geographic will provide him with an all-expenses paid trip to Fiji through its Student Expeditions program. There, Leveque will work on improvement projects to help a village rebuild after a cyclone hit in 2016, while tutoring students in English and learning more about Fijian culture.

Trey already has an impressive list of honors to his name this past year. He’s was accepted to several universities. He selected Arizona State University with plans to major in business and global politics.

In addition, he received the ASU Alumni Association Medallion Scholar award and the ASU Public Service Academy placement. He was also been named a Bank of America Student Leader winner, with an opportunity to intern and attend the Student Leaders Summit in Washington D.C.

Trey served Williams Field as the student body president last school year.
