A woman died very early Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Louisville’s Phoenix Hill neighborhood. The accident occurred around 7:45 a.m. on East Broadway near the 1100 block, a statement from Louisville Metro Police said.
LMPD officers who were part of the 7th Division were called to the scene by the first responders, who had pronounced the woman dead. Later, investigators concluded that a vehicle, traveling east on Broadway, hit the woman. The woman was not utilizing a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
The vehicle’s driver remained at the location and cooperated fully with police. No other vehicle was involved in the collision.
The Traffic Unit is investigating the incident. More information should come on this case as the investigation unfolds.
