Tempe apartment residents evacuated after car crashes into building

Late Monday night, residents of a Tempe apartment complex were evacuated after a car crashed into their building. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on October 14 at Trovita Rio Apartments, near Priest Drive and Rio Salado Parkway.

According to Tempe Police, the driver, believed to be impaired, was taken to the hospital following the crash. A passenger in the car remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Fortunately, no residents inside the building were injured during the crash. However, some were temporarily evacuated as a safety precaution. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
