Two months after a man lost his life in a crash in Clarksville, authorities declared that a 19-year-old had been charged with several counts, including vehicular murder. The Clarksville Police Department reports that on June 16 at around 7:50 p.m., officers were called to a collision on Peachers Mill Road, close to Allen Griffey Road. Huey Johnson, 47, of Clarksville, passed away as a result of his injuries in the collision. According to the authorities, the inquiry revealed that two cars were moving too fast shortly before the collision that claimed Johnson’s life.
Over a week after the incident, authorities declared that the maroon Kia K5 had been identified as the second vehicle involved in the incident, despite the fact that law enforcement had initially identified it as a red Ford Fusion based on witness accounts. On June 24, according to the police, they discovered the “second, non-contact vehicle” and spoke with the driver, Briana Golden, a 19-year-old Clarksville resident. Authorities say that during the August hearing of the Montgomery County Grand Jury, an investigator from the Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT), which collaborated with the District Attorney’s office, presented information regarding the occurrence. The grand jury subsequently delivered a sealed indictment against Golden.
According to officials, Golden was taken into custody on August 13 and accused of vehicular homicide, fleeing the scene of an accident that caused death, reckless endangerment, careless driving, and speeding. A $90,000 bond was imposed for her. As of Friday, Aug. 23, no new information has been made public on this case, which is still undergoing prosecution
