Suspect arrested months after shoe robbery ends in shooting at Nashville apartment complex

Authorities arrested a suspect in relation to the shooting that happened earlier this year at the parking lot of an apartment complex in Nashville; the man was seriously injured.

It happened Monday evening, May 7, around 6 p.m. in the 2700 block of Whites Creek Pike. The arriving officers from Metro Nashville Police found a man shot in the chest while it appeared to be some kind of robbery attempt.

According to police reports, a family member took the victim to TriStar Centennial Medical Center for emergency care before transferring her to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of critical injuries.

A police investigation revealed that one of the suspects, 21-year-old Malik Guy, was identified after an incident of robbery. The guy, accompanied by another unknown suspect, supposedly robbed the victim, who lost his tennis shoes. During the process of robbing him, he shot the victim in the chest.

Guy was finally apprehended on October 10 after months of investigation. He has been charged with several counts of attempted criminal homicide especially aggravated robbery, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and lots more.

The Metro Jail will find Guy, at least for now, under $505,000 bond, according to court records. Police are still looking for the other suspect involved in the case under investigation.

People living in this apartment complex are particular about their safety following the shooting, which confirmed this incident scale of violent crimes on May 7. The police have sought all possible information in this case and appealed to those having any evidence related to this crime to come forward so that all the culprits can be brought into the books.
