Southern Arizona authorities search for man connected to threats to kill Trump

On the day when former President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit the Arizona border, authorities are looking for a guy from southern Arizona who may have made a threat to assassinate the president. The 66-year-old Benson resident Ronald Lee Syrvud is wanted on multiple outstanding warrants, according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.

Additionally, Syrvud is being sought after by the sheriff’s office in relation to recent threats to assassinate the Republican presidential candidate. On Thursday, Trump will visit Cochise County. He will travel to Sierra Vista, the same section of the border between the United States and Mexico that Senator JD Vance, his running mate for vice president, visited three weeks ago.

Syrvud is the subject of warrants from Graham County, Arizona, for hit-and-run and felony failure to register as a sex offender, as well as warrants from Wisconsin for DUI and DUI failure to appear. He did not register with Coconino County as a sex offender, according to the sheriff’s office. Syrvud is a white guy who stands six feet tall, with green eyes and white hair. Make a 911 call or contact your local law enforcement agency if you know Syrvud’s whereabouts.
