According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, a security guard was shot while on patrol at the Avana Collins Creek apartments in Antioch early Monday morning.
The shooting incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. at the complex on Bell Road. The security guard, hired by Saint Michael’s Security, was checking on a “suspicious” person in the pavilion area when the suspect opened fire, before the security guard could open up any kind of conversation.
The security guard was hit in the chest, but a bulletproof vest saved him from serious harm and is expected to survive.
Police are searching for one suspect following a shooting in which one man was injured. There are K9 units deployed as well as a helicopter to locate the suspect, who remains at large.
Details: Suspect was seen in all black. More information will be coming as Metro detectives continue their investigation.
