Tuesday afternoon, a two-vehicle rollover collision on Interstate 10 south of the Valley claimed the life of a youngster. On August 13, just before 6:30 a.m., an accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-10 close to State Route 347. The driver of a blue Ford Explorer lost control of the SUV after the tyre blew out, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. After travelling into the dirt median and back into the eastbound lanes, the car rolled over and was struck by a pickup truck.
The SUV’s driver was admitted to the hospital with injuries. At the scene, the youngster occupying the front seat passed away. He remained anonymous. The four occupants of the pickup truck escaped unharmed. As per DPS, there are no active criminal charges. At SR 47, the eastbound lanes are closed. When they will reopen is unknown.
