Reading Community City Schools pilot new artificial intelligence program for this school year

For the 2024–2025 academic year, Reading Community City Schools is excited to welcome back students as well as a brand-new artificial intelligence program.

Through its partnership with Khan Academy, the district hopes to stay ahead of the curve. The charity offers a chatbot with artificial intelligence named Khanmigo that is designed to help students and teachers by acting as a tutor.

The program won’t provide the solution if a student needs assistance with their homework. Rather, it will assist them in solving the issue.

Additionally, the chatbot will guide students through the particular lessons they studied in class.

The district stated that this program appears to be a good fit for their long-standing desire to experiment with artificial intelligence.

Superintendent Damon Davis stated, “We believe that this is not a situation where teachers will ever be replaced.” “This is how we can use this tool to support our students.”

“So as they’re doing things in the classroom, and they’re learning that can come in and partner, almost like a personal tutor saying, ‘Here are the things that are strengths for the students,'” Davis explained.
