Pro-Palestine Protesters Shut Down 405 Freeway, Sparking Major Traffic Chaos

Tuesday morning during rush hour, pro-Palestinian demonstrators briefly blocked the 405 Freeway in West Los Angeles.

According to the traffic record kept by the California Highway Patrol, the group obstructed traffic shortly after nine in the morning by sitting in lanes and caused a traffic jam on the southbound side of the road.

Protesters demanded that the United States withdraw its backing of Israel while it waged a bloody war on Gaza. As to California Highway Patrol Officer Isabel Diaz, the gathering was dispersed just before 9:30 a.m., and the freeway was reopened following the removal of many vehicles that the protesters had left behind.

#LosAngeles | #California

Currently, around 50 to 100 pro-Palestine protesters and activists are occupying the 405 freeway in Los Angeles, California, causing traffic to be at a standstill as they block cars and other vehicles from entering or leaving. They are demanding that all elected Democrats ahead of the DNC call for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, reject AIPAC money, and call for an arms embargo on Israel. Multiple arrests have already been made, and law enforcement is working to resolve the situation and try to reopen the highway.”
