Phoenix police address big drug, weapon seizures and what it means for the community

A 35-year-old man has reportedly been arrested by Phoenix police for allegedly trafficking hundreds of fentanyl tablets every day. On July 25, the suspect was taken into custody following a traffic check close to 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road. Inside his car, thousands of dollars in cash, a pound of methamphetamine, and about 10,000 fentanyl pills were discovered. Officials found 40,000 additional fentanyl tablets, 50 pounds of meth, cocaine, AR-15 weapons, and tens of thousands of dollars in cash after executing a search order at the suspect’s residence.

Steve Martos, a commander in the Phoenix Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Bureau, stated that the total estimated worth of the drugs found in this person’s possession is easily over $100,000 or more. “This person most likely had been dealing drugs for a while because he is more of a mid-level dealer and has better connections.”
