An officer involved in a shooting was Wednesday along I-24 near Joe B. Jackson Parkway in Rutherford County. Officials said they confirmed that the incident involved a deputy from Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and a suspect.
Fortunately, no officers were hurt in the shooting. Authorities have yet to make statements on the suspect’s condition or how things escalated to the violent confrontation. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is leading the events investigation.
