No active shooter found in Air Force base at Louisville's airport after report made during exercise

Following a report made during an exercise scenario, the Kentucky Air National Guard, headquartered at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, was able to confirm there was no active shooter on Saturday morning. A representative indicated that a report of a “real-world active shooter engagement” was sent to the Base Operations Centre during a drill featuring a fictitious active shooter.

Base personnel could not confirm the information, but claimed it was a “erroneous report” because of the exercise. Air Guard security personnel are clearing the building in question after Louisville Metro Police were notified out of caution.
