The Metro Nashville Police Department is investigating the death of 59-year-old James Sutton, who died last Monday night after allegedly being assaulted and possibly running into a vehicle in East Nashville.
According to the police, Sutton was physically attacked by a man along South 5th Street and Russell Street. Video surveillance exists which shows that after the attack, he fell into the roadway-it is not known if he was hit by a passing vehicle.
Sutton was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he eventually died from an extensive head injury and several broken ribs. The authorities are currently investigating this case. The public is also encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 for more information.
