A motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving a commercial vehicle on Interstate 40 near Kingman, Arizona, late Tuesday night.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. The motorcyclist had been stopped on the shoulder of eastbound I-40 before merging into the second lane, directly in front of an oncoming commercial vehicle. The vehicle struck the motorcycle from behind, ejecting the rider.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, though authorities have yet to release their identity.
Following the incident, I-40 was temporarily closed near Kingman for investigation but was reopened by Wednesday morning. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
