More than 70 displaced after Manchester apartment fire

At least 36 apartments were destroyed and over 70 people were forced to flee a big fire that occurred at a Manchester apartment complex on Thursday night.

The Carden States Apartments on Summer Street were the scene of the fire.

News 2 was informed by Manchester fire officials that the fire is under control and there have been no reported injuries.

Following the “catastrophic” fire, Manchester Mayor Joey Hobbs announced that at least 72 people had been evacuated. The complex’s thirty-six units were demolished.

According to Mayor Hobbs, the victims have been bussed to the conference center, the Dusty Elam Foundation is bringing toiletries, and Hardee’s will be providing breakfast for them.

To assist the victims, the American Red Cross has been contacted.
