More than 23K customers experiencing power outage in Clay County, utility says

Over 23,000 households and businesses in Clay County are impacted by a significant power outage that occurred early on Saturday. As of 10:30 a.m., 13,043 customers are impacted in the vicinity of the First Coast Motorway and Oakleaf neighbourhood, according to the utility’s power outage map.

The company reports that 4,678 customers are impacted around Orange Park and 2,554 customers are affected around Blanding Boulevard. Clay Electric stated that the projected restoration time for the Blanding outage is 12:03 p.m.

First Coast News was informed by a Clay Electric representative that restoration is in progress. According to him, the loss of transmission service to multiple substations in northern Clay County is the cause of the outages this morning.
